Little Sirius Cove          9 x 12"          Colley Whisson

Born in the northern regions of Brisbane, Australia, Colley Whisson is a third generation artist. His father, Eric is considered one of Australia's most gifted painters. Colley began painting in oil at the age of 20 and held his first solo exhibition at 24. Since then he has had over 25 solo exhibitions and his work has been published in many magazine articles and books. The subjects of his paintings are not limited to the landscapes of his native Australia. Whisson travels extensively and has painted in the United States, Italy, France, New Zealand and the United Kingdom. In addition to painting, Colley Whisson is an accomplished teacher, holding frequent workshops in the United States. For a complete listing, visit his website.

Whisson writes that he is "at his happiest professionally when he is painting full of confidence using his brush like Zorro would wield his trusty sword, dashing in marvellous darks, highlights and rendering each painting with as much skill and accuracy as possible."
