Texas Hill Country

   Texas Hill Country is bordered by the larger cities of Austin and San Antonio and includes the smaller towns of Bandera, Fredericksburg, Gruene, Kerrville, Luckenbach, Marble Falls, New Braunfels and Utopia. It encompasses approximately 10,000 square miles in south-central Texas. The hilly terrain is filled with limestone and granite outcroppings, beautiful streams and rivers, seasonal wildflowers and picturesque ranches and farms - In short, everything a landscape painter could desire!

   The Texas Hill Country Trail map lists fourteen state park and state natural areas:

   Blanco State Park
   Colorado Bend State Park
   Enchanted Rock State Natural Area
   Garner State Park
   Government Canyon State Natural Area
   Guadalupe River State Park
   Hill Country State Natural Area
   Honey Creek State Natural Area
   Inks Lake State Park
   Lyndon B. Johnson State Park and Historic Site
   Longhorn Cavern State Park
   Lost Maples State Natural Area
   McKinney Falls State Park
