Watercolor Update Jim McVicker We've asked another of the artists we have interviewed to update us with some of their watercolor work. This week, Jim McVicker sent along these images. Members can see our earlier interview with Jim here: Voices of Experience - Jim McVicker.
Jim wrote to us: "All of these watercolors were actually painted a number of years ago. I find watercolor painting such a delicate balance between not enough or too much. More times than not I over work them trying to get the richness of color and values I'm used to getting with oils. Very happy when they work. I want to get back to working more with watercolor."
From our previous interview: "After painting for 40 years I still have highs and lows and bad days. I'm still learning, still growing and often when painting I feel as though I'm about to fall off the cliff, yet when I catch my balance, there is nothing like making a good painting. Look to nature, paint from life and paint what you love." |
