Profile: Rob EvansRob Evans
Susquehanna Sunset 21.75 x 15.5" Pastel Rob Evans lives and paints near Wrightsville, Pennsylvania. Although his extensive body of work includes a diverse range of subjects, we have chosen to highlight his paintings inspired by the Susquehanna River. In addition to extensively painting the river himself in all weather and light conditions, Rob organized and curated a traveling exhibition titled Visions of the Susquehanna. It featured paintings from over two centuries by many prominent American artists, both historical and contemporary. We have included a link to the accompanying book here: Visions of the Susquehanna: 250 Years of Paintings by American Masters.
Evans's paintings have been included in major solo and curated group exhibitions including the Tretyakov Museum in Moscow, the Corcoran Museum of Art in Washington, D.C. and the Butler Institute of American Art in Youngstown, Ohio. They can be found in the public collections of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the National Gallery of Art and the San Francisco Art Museum, among many others.
