Aspens - Telluride, Colorado 12 x 9" Oil Kathy Anderson recounts one of those amusing experiences that only a plein air painter can truly appreciate. While working on location at Hidden Falls, Jenny Lake, Wyoming, a sudden hail storm interrupted her endeavors. Anderson persevered, having to stop and start her painting four or five times while attempting to take advantage of the intermittent sun between downpours. A passerby commented, "Oh, what a nice hobby!"
Anderson loves the inspiration she gets from being immersed in the environment, spending 80% of her time painting outdoors and 20% in the studio. She is known not only for her landscapes, but for her exquisite garden paintings and still-lifes. Begonias and Geraniums 16 x 15" Oil Kathy Anderson is a Signature Member of the Oil Painters of America, Allied Artists and the Connecticut Watercolor Society. She is a Charter Member of the Putney Painters with Richard Schmid and an Exhibiting Artist Member of the National Arts Club and the Salmagundi Club.
